TERMplus - Main Features

Searching

In TERMplus you can use the wildcard character (*) to look for any part of a term. TERMplus then displays a list of all term pairs in the database where the source language term contains the desired string.

For instance, when you enter "kapital*" as the search string, as shown below, TERMplus finds all term pairs where the source language term begins with "kapital" and so on:

The source and target language can be selected on the Main Menu!

Viewing search results

The initial search result is shown on the Search Results page:

Here the following information is shown:
  • source language term with status
  • classification of the concept
  • target language terms, word class and status

  • The list is sorted alphabetically in the source language. If the same term is connected to different concepts, the list is sorted by concept number so that the term pairs belonging together, i.e. are expressions for the same concept, are shown together.
The user can get further terminological information on each term pair shown in Search Results. This is done by clicking on the small field to the left of the search result and then on the button Term Information.

This page contains all information on the selected term pair. The most important information is seen on the screen, but it is necessary to use PageDown to see status information and general information.
